12:47 am - Something wakes me up. I'm not sure what it was but all of a sudden I'm wide awake. Then I hear it. A small cough from Trin's room as if she's clearing her throat. I've heard her cough in her sleep many many times but something about this cough made my mommy senses tingle.

I get to her bedroom door hoping to see her sound asleep in bed but instead there is movement... she's awake... not a good sign.

"Are you okay?" I ask "What's wrong?"
"I puked." she says in that poor little girl voice.

I quickly think back. Did I hear footsteps in the hall? No. No I did not. Uh Oh.

"In the bathroom?" I ask.
"No" she answers and points over the side of the bed.
"Okay, let's get you cleaned up." I say as I peel back not one, not two, but three heavy blankets.

Now all you mothers out there you do the math. Child has dinner, goes to a baseball game (as a spectator) and on the way home the parent she is with buys her a McDonalds Happy Meal with a milkshake (at 8:00 pm. I found out when she got home at 8:30pm). The child stays up until about 10pm then goes to bed wearing pjs and buries herself under three heavy blankets on a nice warm spring evening. Her window was closed and the fan in her room was off.

Silly girl... all winter long I fight with her to sleep under a blanket and as soon as it's warm enough to sleep with just a sheet that's when she decides to put blankets on her bed.

So she over heated and all of that McDonalds that was just sitting in her stomach ended up on her floor. Great way to spend on hour at 1:00am.

Of course Caleb slept right through until I was done with clean up. That boy can sleep through anything!

It is now 10:30 am. We want to go to the market and have to go grocery shopping but Trinity says her tummy still hurts and she just wants to play video games. Personally I think she might be milking it.

  1. Sorry to hear that Trin wasnt feeling well last night. Got to love how hubbies can sleep through anything.

  2. Tell me about it. A MAC truck could speed through our bedroom and he probably wouldn't even notice.
